How art, books and a little courage became Amelior

Hi, love.

Today I finally sat down to write the story I’ve been carrying around for a while — how all of this began. Not the polished version for an “About” page. The real one.

For a long time, I felt scattered. I loved too many things: painting, books, journaling, the quiet work of trying to understand myself. I kept thinking I had to choose just one and get serious about it. But every time I tried to let the others go, something inside me went quiet.

Studying art therapy is what finally helped me connect the dots. I began to understand that something I’d been doing for myself for years — creating with my hands to feel more like myself — had a name and a purpose. And it was something I could gently share with other people, too. That was when Amelior stopped feeling like a collection of unrelated hobbies and started to feel like my own path.

Everything I love, finally in one place.

I wanted to build something that could hold all of it: the paintings, the guided journals, the workshops, and the slower way of living I keep writing about here. Not a brand built around a single product, but a small world shaped by everything I love. The idea felt terrifying and completely right at the same time.

And here’s the honest part: the gift boxes weren’t even my idea at first. I’d created my journals and was quietly proud of them when a friend — one of those people who can see something in you before you see it yourself — told me, “Don’t just sell the book. Pair it with something that makes someone feel truly cared for.”

That one sentence gave rise to the self-care boxes. Sometimes, your path takes shape because someone else believes in you before you fully believe in yourself.

So here I am: still figuring things out, still working from my little home studio, still learning. But for the first time, everything I create comes from the same place. And I think that’s what finding your thing really feels like — not a lightning bolt, but a slow gathering of everything you’ve loved all along.
